This workshop is an accelerated learning experience designed to teach business and manufacturing leaders how to practically apply Lean concepts to improve supply chain performance. The workshop uses a physical board-based simulation as the primary learning instrument, supported by the integration of lecture and discussion.
Participants are introduced to Flow Kaizen methodology, an improvement approach that focuses on optimizing extended flows by reducing total lead-time. In three rounds, participants experience a traditional Make-to-Plan System (Push), then a Replenish-to-Order System (Pull), and then finally a Build-to-Demand System (Mixed Model Lean).
The learning environment gives participants the opportunity to improve their supply chain decision-making skills, strategic thinking skills and collaborative teaming skills.

Medical Industry Focus on CE Mark Requirements

Three of the top six global markets that New Hampshire exports to are part of the EU; Germany, United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. Exports to these markets from New Hampshire yield $225 million annually. The EU as a region is New Hampshire's second largest export market, second only to Canada. There are product regulations in these countries that require a CE Mark in order to be compliant. The International Trade Resource Center in partnership with Southern New Hampshire University is holding a half day session on September 18, 2007 to address the issues involved with CE Mark and the necessary qualifications for Medical Devices.
Guest speakers include Robert Straetz, US Commercial Service, US Department of Commerce and Som Kovvuri, TissueLink Medical, Dover, NH. The seminar costs $45, which includes breakfast and all course materials. Lunch will be provided if you would like to meet with either Mr. Straetz or Mr. Kovvuri after the seminar.

The New Hampshire Biotechnology Council exhibited as a regional entity in collaboration with Vermont and Maine, and occupied a three-booth corner space with a custom designed booth. The first day we had more visitors than previous BIO's combined! They were all very interested in the regional approach and particularly, the status of the industry in northern New England.

Medical Industry Focus on CE Mark Requirements

Three of the top six global markets that New Hampshire exports to are part of the EU; Germany, United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. Exports to these markets from New Hampshire yield $225 million annually. The EU as a region is New Hampshire's second largest export market, second only to Canada. There are product regulations in these countries that require a CE Mark in order to be compliant. The International Trade Resource Center in partnership with Southern New Hampshire University is holding a half day session on September 18, 2007 to address the issues involved with CE Mark and the necessary qualifications for Medical Devices.
Guest speakers include Robert Straetz, US Commercial Service, US Department of Commerce and Som Kovvuri, TissueLink Medical, Dover, NH. The seminar costs $45, which includes breakfast and all course materials. Lunch will be provided if you would like to meet with either Mr. Straetz or Mr. Kovvuri after the seminar.

International Northeast Biotechnology Corridor Events
NHBC is represented as an officer on the Board of the International Northeast Biotechnology Corridor (INBC). This group, formed in 2000 as a result of the intention of the New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers, promotes activity within the member states and provinces. At present Marine Biology and Medical Devices are focuses of INBC's activities. As opportunities and events are organized notification of these events will be sent to members of the Council and posted on our website with links to the event's website. Many events will be offered at a lower rate to members of the NHBC.

An enthusiastic crowd gathered at Devine Millimet in Manchester to network and celebrate the launch of the new NhBiotech.com web site.
BIO 2005 in Philadelphia
The New Hampshire Biotechnology Council exhibited as a regional entity in collaboration with Vermont and Maine, and occupied a three-booth corner space with a custom designed booth. The first day we had more visitors than previous BIO's combined! They were all very interested in the regional approach and particularly, the status of the industry in northern New England.
BioBrew
The last BioBrew in May, 2005 was sponsored in large part by Bio-Concepts, Inc., and the City of Nashua - it was held at the Sheraton Tara in Nashua. About 80 people attended this free, informal networking event. Stay tuned for details on the BioBrew in November.
