Don's nearly twenty years of leadership experience includes working with large public corporations as well as smaller venture backed start-ups. He has extensive experience and a proven track record involving the launch of some of the most successful medical devices on the market today.
Most recently Don served as Chief Operations Officer for Novoste Corporation (vascular brachytherapy devices) where he was responsible for worldwide operations including international sales and marketing. Don also held senior positions at Abiomed Corporation (ventricular assist devices & total artificial heart) as well as Cabot Medical (general & minimally invasive surgical devices). Don started his medical device career as an engineer with Cordis Corporation, today a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson. He held a number of managerial positions and was responsible for the initial start-up operations of PTCA balloon catheter and coronary & peripheral stent products.
Don began his career in the United States Air Force where he was responsible for supporting air-to-ground and satellite communications for Cape Canaveral Air Station and Kennedy Space Center. There, Don was recipient of the John Levitow Award, the highest award given for professional military leadership. Don holds undergraduate degrees in Biomedical Technology (Johnson Technical Institute) and Industrial Engineering Technology (State University of New York) as well an MBA (Nova Southeastern University).
